On October 25th, 2017 Rehab 13 was toned for the dwelling fire in Merchantville’s local at 1630 hrs. for the all hands fire. Companies on scene were in service on a 2 1/2 story wood frame single family with heavy fire in the C/D corner with extension to the upper floors. Several lines were stretched to the interior and a water supply was established. Searches proved negative for trapped occupants and companies had the fire contained and placed under control when Rehab 13 was requested ot the scene for personnel support.
Rehab 13 responded with (2) apparatus and (7) personnel and upon arrival could not get close to the fire scene due to the amount of fire apparatus already committed at the scene. Rehab provided liquids only and no hot food as requested by command. At 1830 hrs. Rehab 13 (1385) was released from the scene and responded to our assignment in Voorhees for their Fire Prevention Open House at Eastern reginal High school. Voorhees did request Rehab 2 to assist with the assignment as they do attract a large crowd every year and this year was no exception. U1386 did attend the Voorhees open house when they were released from the Merchantville “all hands”.
Rehab 13 was on scene for two hours before clearing that scene.
The fire’s origin and cause was under investigation.
