At 0514 Hrs. On Saturday morning May 5, 2018 Rehab 13 was dispatched initially for the all hands dwelling fire located in the unit block of Upton Way. responding fire units had a single family wood frame dwelling with fire throughout. All companies were placed in service.
Though Rehab 13 was technically O.O.S. members were monitoring the fire and made a call to the communications center to offer to respond to the assignment. Rehab 1 and 2 were originally dispatched but did not muster a crew. Rehab 13 did respond at that time with (4) members and U1386 and 1388 to provide liquids and did place (2) microwaves on U1386 and were able to cook breakfast sandwiches on the scene for 1st Responders working the incident. There were multiple companies called on the all hands. and companies to cover stations.
Rehab 13 was in service from 0540 hrs. until 0726 hrs. when released by Command 820 and returned to station to re-supply and make ready for the next call.
The press reported (2) minor injuries to firefighters during the incident.
No photos were taken by the crew.
Fire origin and cause are under investigation by local and Camden County officials.
