At 0258 hrs. Rehab 13 was toned to assist companies on the scene of a gasoline tanker fire on the Atlantic City Expressway at MM 30.2 in Winslow Township’s fire local. The fire started out as overheated brakes that caught and then spread to the trailer hauling a load of gasoline. The driver was able to separate the tractor from the trailer so that the fire would not spread to it. Additional units were dispatched including a foam task force, tender task force, and a crash/rescue fire foam unit from the Atlantic City Airport. Companies also stretched a 5″ supply line as both east and west bound sides of the expressway were shut down during the incident.
Rehab 13 was dispatched at 0258 hrs. and responded with a crew of (3) manning Rehab 13 (1385) and was able to enter the ACE and proceed close to the incident. Rehab 13 set-up and distributed the following: (43) bottles of MVP, (38) bottles of water, (7) pots of coffee, (60) breakfast sandwiches, (44) bags/boxes of snack foods, (1) change of clothing, (6) cotton towels, (1) folding table, (6) folding chairs, the rest room was opened, and cell phone charger was used.
Rehab 13 operated until 0658 hrs. when released by 2500. Rehab 13 was back and ready for service by 0920 hrs.
