At 0021 hrs. on the morning of January 11, 2018 Rehab 13 dispatched to the White Horse Pike just east of Cross Keys Road for the building fire. The involved building was the Country Town diner and initial reports from a passing Camden County fire officer was fire and smoke showing from the roof. Companies arrived laid in a supply line, and stretched (2) 1 3/4″ hand-lines for an interior attack. This was halted when the possibility of collapse was observed and the evacuation signal was sounded and all interior crews were withdrawn and companies employed a defensive operation was begun with (2) elevated master streams placed in service.
Rehab 13 responded to the scene with (2) apparatus and (7) personnel and provided hot and cold beverages, 10 pots of coffee, a rest room, cooling station, folding chairs, and a rest area. Rehab 13 was in service from 0045 hrs. until being released at 0244 hrs. All units were re-supplied by 0330 hrs. and were back in service. The next run for Rehab 13 came in at 0526 hrs.
The fire is under investigation by County fire investigators and there were no injuries reported.
