The first run of the new year for Rehab 13 on January 3, 2108 was to Station 86’s local near the intersection of Jarvis Road and Williamstown Road in a multi-family structure. Companies arrived on scene to a heavy fire condition in a 3 story wood frame unoccupied townhouse. This fire is the second fire in this complex in the last month and the 2nd and 3rd floor collapsed due to the heavy fire conditions and construction type.
Rehab 13 was dispatched on the all hands box and responded to the scene with (2) units and (4) personnel to provide hot liquids, snack foods, a rest room, and hand and foot warmers for the 1st Responders. The all hands was struck at 0400 hrs. and rehab remained on scene until 0634 hrs, when released by 860 Command. Members returned all units to service and were released at 0730 hrs.
This fire was in a vacant townhouse under construction and is under investigation by local and County officials.
