On Saturday morning December 15, 2018 the Deer Park Fire Company/Rehab 13 went out on the annual Santa Claus detail despite the rainy weather. It was decided to park the open cab 1939 Mack pumper in favor of the Kawasaki Mule which has a removable top to protect the crew and Santa from the rain that we encountered all day. Despite the weather we ad a good turnout of children and families (including pets) that came out of their home to visit with and have their photos taken with Santa Claus and receive a candy cane from St. Nick.
A great time was had by the crew, Santa, and the members operating two other apparatus to protect Santa and his driver from other traffic. All of the citizens were surprised that we came out in the rain but our members felt strongly not to cancel this annual event that has been a Cherry Hill Fire Department tradition since the early 1960’s.
Photos were taken along the route and there are below for your enjoyment.
