On July 2 Rehab 13 was requested at 1554 hrs. to assist with personnel and employees in the unit block of Laurel Road for the alarm system. As it turned out the fire extinguishing system (Halon) activated when an air conditioning system produced a smoke condition that dumped the system for the computer room. Today’s temperature at the time of the incident was 99 degress F.
Another hot one during this extended heat wave.
Along with other mutual aid companies and Haz Mat 13 from Cherry Hill were detailed to the incident along with Station 151’s MVU 1 for rapid ventilation of the building.
Rehab 13 responded with (2) apparatus and 6 personnel to the scene to provide hydration and snack foods as well as opening the rest room for 1st Responders and civilians from the business affected. Rehab 13 arrived on scene at 1630 hrs. and provided assistance until being released at 1724 hrs. by 6600.
A total of (24) MVP drinks and (36) waters and (12) frozen electrolyte Sqwinchers were distributed.
