At 1835 hrs. the task force box was transmitted for a building fire at 112 S. Black Horse Pike with fire showing. The initial call came form a passerby via cell phone. A heavy thunderstorm was in progress in the area with a lot of lightning being produced by this storm. This was a vacant school building.
Arriving companies has fire showing at the 2nd floor level and placed all companies in service.
Rehab 13 was requested at 1917 hrs. and responded with (7) personnel and (2) apparatus to provide hydration, snack foods, and cooling stations at the fire scene. Rehab 13 arrived on the incident and set up near the fire building and placed the rest room in service. Rehab served (28) MVP, (13) bottles of water, used a dozen cooling towels, and multiple snack foods.
Rehab 13 was released by Command at 2029 hrs. and returned to station to re-supply and was in service by 2100.
The fire was thought to have been started by a lightning strike and is under investigation by local and Camden County investigators.
