At 1920 hrs. Lawnside Command 2720 requested Rehab 13 to the fire-ground located at he White Horse Pike and Hodges Avenue for a dwelling fire. Companies arrived to a small single family wood frame dwelling with heavy fire showing and reports of occupants trapped. Companies arrived and placed hand-lines in service and quickly knocked the fire down and performed ventilation and both primary and secondary searches. News reports indicated that one occupant was transported to the hospital.
Rehab 13 was dispatched and responded with 7 personnel and arrived on the fire scene with Rehab 13 and U1386, Rehab Support. Hydration and snack foods were provided, the rest room was opened, and members were supplied with cooling towels and room temperature water for the neck and head areas.
Rehab 13 arrived and went in service at 1944 hrs. and were released at 2034 hrs. to return to quarters to re-supply and complete the exercise for the evening, truck and equipment checks.
Rehab 13 units were ready at 2135 hrs.
County investigators were on scene for the origin and cause determination.
