On December 29, 2017 another request came in for Rehab 13, this time to the Pemberton Bypass for a second dwelling fire for the day. This fire went to multiple alarms due to the fire type, no city water, and the extreme cold and windy conditions. Rehab 13 was dispatched at 1203 hrs. and responded with (6) personnel and Rehab 13 and Rehab Support vehicle U1386.
Companies were operating at a two and a half story dwelling with injuries to civilians.
Rehab set up near the fire building off the roadway and provided hot food, hot beverages, hydration, a rest room, folding chairs in a rest and recovery area, and placed our tent heater outlet (forced warm air 110,00 BTU) directed toward the serving window of Rehab 13 while 1st Responders received hot foods and beverages at the counter. Hand and foot warmer packs that are carried during the winter months were distributed to all that needed them for their hands and feet.
Rehab 13 was on scene from 1235 hrs. to 1600 hrs and was back in service by 1745 hrs.
