On Monday April 23, 2018 companies from Burlington County were on the scene of a 3 story wood frame apartment building with fire through the roof of an entire building in the complex known as the Willingboro Square Apartments. All companies were in service with multiple lines and master streams on this building. The fire was reported in a top floor unit at one end of the building and extended into the non-sprinklered attic space and powered by the strong winds that day engulfed the entire roof of the structure. The fire building was approximately 200′ by 150′.
Rehab 13 was dispatched at 1655 hrs. and responded with 7 personnel and two apparatus (Rehab 13 and 1386) to the scene and arrived on the fire ground at 1747 hrs. Due to hazardous conditions around the fire building we were asked not to establish our cooling stations near the building. A rehab sector set up across from the fire building and provided all rehab service from the rehab sector.
Rehab 13 provided liquids hot and cold, hot foods, snack foods, and coffee and teas, as well as access to the rest room facility on Rehab 13 (1385) for the duration of the incident. Rehab 13 was released by CP16 at 2013 hrs. all both units returned to our station to be resupplied and to make ready for the next assignment. We prepared 118 all beef gourmet hot dogs and 60 cheeseburgers while on scene. Rehab 13 was back in service by 2030 hrs.
