At 1948 hrs. this date companies were dispatched to at a Warwick Road location (Station 27-2 local) for the building fire in a church. All companies went in service and (2) hand-lines were stretched to the interior and were making good progress with searches being negative for trapped victims.
Rehab 13 was dispatched at 1959 hrs. and arrived on scene at 2035 hrs. with (2) apparatus and (6) personnel and were asked to provide fluids only to the 1st Responders at the scene. Rehab 13 supplied (42) MVP drinks, (1) bottles of water, (2) pots of coffee, (1) deployed (1) 6′ table and cooling towels. Rehab 13 also provided a fire police function to protect personnel in the rest and recovery are due to the closure of Route 30 (WHP) due to a supply line laid across the Pike for initial water supply for the incident.
Rehab 13 was released by 2700 at 2153 hrs. and returned to station to re-supply and clean the apparatus for the next run and had the units restored by 2230 hrs.
This fire’s origin and cause were under investigation at the time of rehab 13’s release from the fire-ground.
